Masanori Kanehara vs. Doo Hoo Choi Confirmed for SRC 15

By FCF Staff Sengoku Raiden Championship has officially added a featherweight bout between former champion Masanori Kanehara and Doo Hoo Choi to the line-up, of the promotion’s upcoming October 20th event in Tokyo, Japan.

Kanehara (16-8-5) hasn’t fought since he lost the Sengoku featherweight title in June, when Marlon Sandro KO’d the veteran in 38 seconds. Prior to that, Kanehara had won back-to-back bouts, defeating Michihiro Omigawa and Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto by split decision and unanimous decision respectively.

Choi (5-1) will head into the bout having won three straight fights; in September the South Korean stopped Atsuhiro Tsuboi while competing for Deep. Choi has fought once before for SRC; in June he worked his way to a split decision win over Ikuo Isuda.

SRC 15 will feature the semi-finals of the promotion’s ongoing welterweight grand-prix, as well as, the quarter finals for its Asian bantamweight tourney.
