Shine Fight Promotions has announced today that it has signed Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Mike Ciesnolevicz to a contract. No details regarding when and where the Pat Miletich trained fighter will make his promotional debut were given, although today’s announcement did state that Ciesnolevicz will compete at heavyweight.

“It’s an honor to bring a well-respected veteran like Mike into the Shine fold,” said Shine Fights COO Jason Chambers. “He is such a tough fighter, and is bound and determined to really make his mark on this sport."

The 31 year-old International Fight League vet last fought in September, when he submitted Demian Decorah while competing on a Prestige MMA event in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The bout was Ciesnolevicz’s first since he was released from the UFC, where he submitted heavyweight Neil Grove last February, before being stopped by light-heavyweight Tomasz Drwal at the TUF 9 Finale in June, 2009.

Ciesnolevicz (18-4) has gone 7-2 with 1 No Contest over this last 10 fights.
