Phil Baroni will look to return to the winning column on March 25th, when he takes on Nick Nolte at Titan Fighting Championship’s upcoming event in Kansas City. The promotion has officially confirmed Nolte as Baroni’s opponent, after announcing that it had signed the well traveled vet to a contract last month.(Pictured: Baroni)

"The first leg of Phil's comeback tour will begin March 25 live on HDNet vs. a very game competitor in Nick Nolte. Phil is going to get an opportunity to work his way back to where he wants to be and Nick is going to get an opportunity to make himself a nationally known commodity overnight live on HDNet," Titan Fighting CEO Joe Kelly was quoted saying in the official announcement.

Baroni (13-13) was released from the UFC in January after being stopped by Brad Tavares at UFC 125 on New Year’s Day. The loss was Baroni’s third straight. The 34 year-old-fighter’s last win came in September, 2008, when the powerful fighter stopped Olaf Alfonso while competing under the Palace Fighting Championship banner.

"This is a very important fight for me and my preparation has already begun," said Baroni. "I cannot afford to be anything but my best. Nolte is a very game opponent and has to see this as an opportunity to get a big win. I'll do whatever it takes not to let that happen and I look forward to putting on a show in Kansas City and winning over the fans with my exciting fighting style. I plan on setting up shop in Titan and that means taking Nolte's ass out in KO fashion."

Nolte, who has competed for both Strikeforce and Bellator FC, was listed in the news release with a pro-record of 3-2. Nolte turned pro in 2009 after compiling an amateur record of 7-3.

Titan FC 17 will be hosted by Kansas City’s Memorial Hall and will be broadcast live on HDNet.
