Heading into this weekend’s UFC 128 bout between Jon Jones and Mauricio Rua, the prospect that Jones may fight training partner Rashad Evans afterwards, received nearly as much coverage as the championship fight itself. Of course, after Jones stopped Rua in the third round to lay claim to the light-heavyweight title, Evans (pictured) was brought into the Octagon to confirm he would face the new champ next.

While Evans and Jones recently acknowledged they would fight one another, details are emerging as to what the bout means, in terms of Evans’ training camp. The former light-heavyweight champion has since revealed that not only has he departed from Greg Jackson’s camp, but how he feels about the split, via his official Twitter account.

Here are some of the recent posts to appear on Evan’s Twitter page:

Many of u probably already seen that I got offered the title shot & decided 2 take it. @jonnybones fought amazing! I'm very happy 4 him!

With that said I can't wait 4 the chance 2 compete against him! I no longer will use Greg Jackson as my coach but we r still coo! 505 4life

I will not use Greg ever again.. I really haven't used him in a while anyways.. In my last 2 fights I trained with him 5x's..

Greg brought this situation about. He brought Jones on board a while back against my wishes & here we r today.

so I decided 2 leave Greg because I felt like he didn't have my best interest anymore. Greg is not the same coach he use 2 b

Evans was originally scheduled to face Rua at UFC 128, but was forced to withdraw due to injury. The UFC offered his former teammate Jones the title shot, after he submitted Ryan Bader at UFC 126 in February.
