By FCF Staff Despite a late surge of offense from Keith Jardine, which appeared to have fellow UFC vet Trevor Prangley in considerable trouble, the Greg Jackson trained fighter was unable to stop his losing streak at last night’s Shark Fights event in Amarillo, Texas. Earlier on, Prangley largely looked to counter strike, before dropping Jardine on a couple of occasions with a hard knee and punches. Although Jardine recovered quickly each time and resumed attacking, Prangley scored enough points with two of the judges to earn the Split Decision win. The loss extends Jardine’s losing streak to 5.
In the co-main-event, which also featured two former Octagon competitors in Houston Alexander and Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, Alexander came back from the brink of defeat to earn a thrilling, second round, TKO win.
Early on Sokoudjou stunned Alexander with a flurry of strikes, and while the powerful fighter desperately worked for a defensive, single leg takedown, Sokoudjou blasted away at the light-heavyweight with punches. Alexander managed to survive the opening frame, and came out firing in the second, sending the failing Sokoudjou crashing to the floor with a flurry of punches. After the accomplished judo practitioner offered little in the way of working out from the precarious position, the referee jumped in to give Alexander the stoppage win.
