By FCF Staff Strikeforce competitors Daniel Cormier and Mike Kyle added victories to their resumes this weekend, as both men earned stoppage victories while fighting on a Xtreme MMA event in Sydney, Australia.
According to a report on the official Strikeforce site, the accomplished wrestler Cormier ran his undefeated record to 6-0, by tapping out heavyweight Soa Palelei with strikes in the first round. The bout was Cormier’s first since August, when the rising heavyweight stopped Jason Riley at Strikeforce’s “Houston” event.
Kyle (pictured) has now won 4 bouts in a row, as the light-heavyweight stopped Stephen Oliver in the first round to extend his overall record to 18-7-1. In Kyle’s last outing, the UFC veteran submitted Ron Humphrey with a second round, rear-naked-choke at a Strikeforce Challengers event in July.
