TUF 2 winner Joe Stevenson will look to get back in the winner’s column on March 3rd, when he faces WEC vet Danny Castillo at the upcoming UFC on Versus 3 card in Louisville, Kentucky. The bout has been added to the card’s official line-up on the UFC website.
Stevenson (31-12) is coming off a quick, KO loss at the hands of Mac Danzig in December, after losing by unanimous decision to George Sotiropoulos at UFC 110 last February. The former lightweight contender’s last win took place October, 2009, when he stopped Spencer Fisher in the second round at UFC 104.
Castillo (10-3) will head into his Octagon debut having won back-to-back bouts over Dustin Poirier and most recently Will Kerr, who the Team Alpha Male fighter knocked out at WEC 53. Castillo’s last defeat occurred in March, 2010, when he was KO’d by former WEC lightweight champ, Anthony Pettis.
UFC on Versus 3 will be hosted by Louisville’s KFC Yum! Center and will be broadcast live on the Versus network. The card will be headlined by a welterweight bout between Diego Sanchez and Martin Kampmann.
Some of the other bouts scheduled for the event include Mark Munoz vs. CB Dollaway, Alessio Sakara vs. Rafael Natal, Brian Bowles vs. Damacio Page and Steve Cantwell vs. Cyrille Diabate.
