Roufusport has announced today that Rickson Gracie black belts Luiz Claudio and Thiago Veiga, have officially been added to the Milwaukee based team’s staff of trainers. The Brazilian brothers will continue to improve the grappling abilities of an impressive roster that includes current UFC competitors Alan Belcher, Patrick Barry, Anthony “Showtime” Pettis, Erik Koch, and “Danny Boy” Downes. According to a press release sent out today by the organization, Claudio arrived in the U.S. in 1990 and began training with the aforementioned Gracie. Claudio, who originally hails from Rio De Janeiro, was awarded his black belt from Gracie in 2000.
Veiga began training under Gracie in 1995, and after winning a gold medal at the 2002 Mundials, was awarded his black belt. In addition to winning world BJJ championships in 2001 and 2002, Veiga is a BJJ Pan American Champion (2002).
The two brothers are the head instructors of the LCCT Combat Team.
Roufusport is run by accomplished kickboxer and renowned striking instructor Duke Roufus, as well as his business partner, Scott Joffe.
