Former “Ultimate Fighter” winner Joe Stevenson will reportedly look to end his three fight losing streak as a featherweight, as the UFC has announced today that the vet will face Javier Vazquez at the promotion’s next UFC on Versus card in June. No official date or location has been announced for the event.
Stevenson (31-13) has fallen short in bouts to George Sotiropoulos, Mac Danzig and most recently Danny Castillo, after earning back-to-back victories over Nate Diaz and Spencer Fisher in 2009. The 28 year-old-fighter is 4-6 in his last ten bouts.
Vazquez (15-5) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Chad Mendes at WEC 52 in November, after scoring submissions wins over Mackens Semerzier and former UFC lightweight champ Jens Pulver earlier in 2010. The 33 year-old-vet will make his UFC debut having gone 2-3 in his last five bouts.
The UFC also announced today that the upcoming welterweight fight between Matt Brown and Rich Attonito, which was originally scheduled for the TUF 13 Finale, has been moved to the UFC on Versus 4 card.
