Thiago Alves Misses Weight for UFC 117

By FCF Staff    Thiago Alves will be collecting 20% less than his agreed purse for tomorrow night, as the American Top Team fighter failed to make weight this afternoon for his UFC 117 tilt with Jon Fitch. The renowned welterweight came in at 171.5lbs on his second trip to the scales today in Oakland, and has been subsequently fined for the aforementioned amount.

UFC 117 main event competitors Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen both made weight, with the champion Silva coming in at 184.5 lbs. and the challenger tipping the scales at 185. All of the card’s other competitors made weight for the event.
